After Eastern European criminals Oleg and Emil come to pick up their share of a heist score, Oleg steals a video camera and starts filming their activities, both illegal and legal. When they know the way the American press circus can produce a remorseless killer seem as the victim and make them rich, they aim media-savvy NYPD Homicide Detective Eddie Flemming and media-naive FDNY Fire Marshal Jordy Warsaw, the cops exploring their murder and torching of their former companion, filming what to market to the local tabloid television show"Top Story."
