A Star Is Born - 1937

Esther Blodgett is yet another starry-eyed farm kid attempting to break into these movies. Waitressing at a Hollywood party, she catches the attention of alcoholic celebrity Norman Maine, is given a test, and can be now swept up at the Hollywood glamor system (ruthlessly satirized). She along with her idol Norman wed. However, his livelihood abruptly dwindles to nothing.
