Heaven & Earth - 1993

Le Ly lives in a small Vietnamese village whose peace is shattered when warfare breaks out. Caught between the Viet Cong and the South Vietnamese military the village is destroyed. Le Ly simplifies to flee, after being raped and brutalized. She leaves for the city, living scenarios that are distressed, but alive. Finally she meets a U.S. Marine called Steve Butler who treats her liberally and tells her he would love to get wed -- maybe to her.
