Architect Newton Davis proposes marriage to his girlfriend, just to be promptly rejected. He seeks solace in a rack using a waitress, never imagining that a woman he slept once would wind up posing as his spouse. Gwen's ruse is so effective that by the time Newton finds out of his"marriage," the full town feels just like he understand him.
