Captured by smugglers if he was just a hatchling, a macaw called Blu never learned to fly and also lives a happily domesticated life in Minnesota with his human friend, Linda. Blu is believed to be the very last of his own kind, but if word stems that Jewel lives in Rio de Janeiro, Blu and Linda go to meet her. Animal smugglers escape and begin a dangerous adventure back again to freedom -- and even Linda although kidnap Blu and Jewel, but the set.
