Justin McLeod is a teacher who lives as a recluse on the border of town after his face was disfigured in an automobile accident ten years earlier, in which there had been a boy incinerated -- and for which he had been convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Suspected to be a paedophile, he's befriended by Chuck, faking and inducing town's suspicions to be sparked.

I was there I live in Maine I went to where mel Gibson was shooting this movie I got a picture with him......he was awesome.....he chain-smoked bigtime back then he probably don't now idk?Was so great

he shot a lot of this in Camden but the miss Portland,diner scene I've eaten breakfast there million times
