Thirtysomething Hillary Burns has spent his life trying to get the approval of her parents her mother, Meredith Burns, to date without success. Part of that approval for Hillary is to marry the person. This is exactly why Hillary is really happy that she's engaged to powerful lawyer Jason King, who she will buy to meet with the household for the first time. However, because he tries to concentrate on his livelihood that's apparently more important to him than Hillary Hillary's life starts to break apart Jason dumps her, also when she loses her part-time paper writing job once the paper itself excels.
