Cries and Whispers - 1972

Since Agnes dies of cancer, her sisters ' are so deeply immersed in their own psychic pains that they can not give her the support she needs. Maria is wracked with guilt in her partner's suicide, caused with his discovery of her affair. Even the suicidal Karin seems to regard her sister using revulsion. The deeply religious maid who lost her young child, Anna, seems able to offer compassion and solace.
