Dancer in the Dark - 2000

Selma, a Czech immigrant on the brink of cataract, struggles to make ends meet for herself and her son, who has endured the same genetic ailment and will suffer the same fate without an surgery that is expensive. When life gets too difficult, Selma learns to manage her love of musicals, penalizing life's issues - even if - by dreaming amounts up to the rhythmic beats of her surroundings.
