As a business auditor who works in a number of offices, Jonathan McQuarry wanders without an anchor one of New York's power agents. A chance meeting lawyer Wyatt Bose contributes to the introduction of Jonathan into The List, also an underground sex club. Jonathan begins an affair with a woman known simply as S, that introduces Jonathan into a universe of treachery and murder.
