After moving down at the fifth round, boxer Bud Gordon bowed from the limelight. Living in a fixer-upper apartment at New Jersey with his girl friend, Bud longs for his former Manhattan glory. In an effort to return in the match, he makes a bargain with a restaurateur. But quick strategies bring easy pay offs so that since the consequences of the firm negotiations unfold, Bud needs to get a choice between his ethics and his or her aspirations.
