An American professional gambler named Jack Weil (Redford) decides to visit Havana, Cuba to bet. On the boat to Havana, '' he matches Roberta Duran (Olin), the wife of a radical, Arturo (Julia). Right the police take away Arturo, also Roberta has been tortured and seized. Jack supports her, however she proceeds to encourage the revolution.
