this looks like a rebirth/ reincarnation type thing. In the end they both made it through to the egg/planet, therefore a twin birth. Note how he wasn't affected or bothered to save the dogs... You have to let go of everything that holds you back as far as emotions. Passage...

Yeah the Dr was cray, cray but think I may have missed a piece at the end cause where was the kid or was that her with him? & it is not a spoiler just need a bit of clarity also was goo.but dragged in alit of places felt like it was 5 hrs long just my own opinion
