Hope and Glory - 1987

Director John Boorman drew out of their own youth adventures about a boy growing up in and around London. For Billy Rowan, the nightly bombings provide a show that is terrifying, nevertheless they include opportunities to sift through the rubble with friends in the mornings. As Billy plays with, as they suffer through losses and the distress of wartime his family struggles to stay intact.
