House of Sand and Fog - 2003

Behrani, an Iranian immigrant buys a California bungalow, thinking they can fix it up, sell it , and make enough money to send his child into college. That the house may be former drug addict Kathy's legal property. After losing the house in an unfair legal dispute with the county, she is left with nowhere to move. Straining her house back, she hires a lawyer and befriends a police officer. The law has violated, therefore they end up engaged with a difficult moral dilemma.
