Hammer provides ride to Christina, an hitch hiker in a country road, who has escaped from the neighboring lunatic asylum. Thugs waylay them and force his car. He hears Christina being tortured until she dies when Hammer contributes to semiconsciousness. Steak, both for vengeance as well as in hopes that"something big" is behind it decides to pursue the case.
