Throughout her eyes along with her family of a dream being fulfilled with the despised Shah's defeat at the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Marjane' Marji' Statrapi watches incidents in 1970s Iran. She witnesses first hand the newest Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, has come to be a tyranny on its own, as Marji grows upwards.
