Red Desert - 1964

Amid the wastelands and factories of Italy, wife and mommy Giuliana desperately tries to conceal her tenuous grip on reality from people around her, particularly her husband, Ugo. Ugo's older pal, Corrado, shows in town on a business trip and is far sensitive to the worries of Giuliana. They begin an affair, yet it does little to quell Giuliana's existential anxieties, and also her emotional condition immediately deteriorates.
