Alison Wynn is a amateur triathlete who uttered Dr. Laura Stevens, a contentious peak-performance trainer, to take her on as a customer. Together they attempt a schedule combining physical training together with hypnosis that is experimental to render Alison competitive. Pushed to her limits and forced to explore the painful repressed memories of her mother's suicide, Dr. Stevens' punishing regimen helps Alison post impressive profits and crack through her own glass ceiling.
