Smilla's Sense of Snow - 1997

Smilla Jaspersen, half Danish, half Greenlander, attempts to understand the passing of a boy who falls from her apartment building's roof. Smilla finds a trail of signs contributing towards a secretive corporation that's made expeditions . Scenes from the film were taken in Copenhagen and western Greenland. The film was entered in to the Berlin International Film Festival, where director Bille August was nominated for the Golden Bear.
