Sullivan's Travels - 1941

Successful movie manager John L. Sullivan, convinced he wont be able to picture his challenging master piece until he's suffered, dons a hobo disguise and sets off on a journey, planning to"know trouble" firsthand. When is just a train ride back into Hollywood and a blond companion he redoubles his efforts, managing to land himself in more trouble than he bargained for if he ends up a prisoner to a chain gang and loses his memory.
