Edward Wilson, the only witness to his father's suicide and member of the Skull and Bones Society while students at Yale, is a morally upright son who values honour and discretion, qualities which help him to be qualified for a career within the newly based OSS. His devotion to his job does not come though, directing him to sacrifice his family and in the course of time his ideals.
