A comingofage story about an outsider who, against all possibilities and struggles, struggles for acceptance and love and for her place in the world. The show centers around a young orphaned girl from the late 1890's, who, after a abusive childhood spent in the homes of strangers and orphanages, will be sent to live with an older woman and her brother that is aging. Over time Anne will transform the town in which they dwell together with fierce intellect, her soul and brilliant imagination and their lives.
