From the increase of the wolf pack into the drive for success in the Pacific we profile the strategic masterminds and the evolution of tactics and technology, as the risk of undersea war attracts every sailor's worst nightmare into life. Stock footage and expert analysis are woven with storyline driven re-enactments filmed on Second World War era submarines that were authentic to set the characters at the heart of the action.
