Follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War - New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and supporter Emma Green. Based on true reports and put at a Union hospital at the inhabited Confederate city of Alexandria, audiences are taken past the battle and in the lifestyles of Americans over the Civil War home front while they face the unprecedented challenges of one of the very turbulent times in our nation's history.
