Mr. Selfridge recounts the real-life story of the flamboyant and visionary American creator of Selfridge's, London's lavish department store. Place in 1909 London, if women were reveling at a new sense of freedom and modernity, it follows Harry Gordon Selfridge ('Mile a Minute Harry'), a man with a mission to make shopping as exciting as gender. Reckless and pioneering, using an almost manic energy, Harry created a theatre of retail where any topic or fad that was new, exciting, interesting - or only bizarre - has been showcased.
