Whisky Galore! - 1949

Based on a true story. The name of the true boat, that spanned Feb 5 1941 - throughout WWII - was S/S Politician. Outside Eriskay comprising 250,000 bottles of whisky, having abandoned Liverpool two days earlier, heading for Jamaica, it sank. The locals gathered as many bottles as they could arrived, and even to day, bottles have been observed at the sand or even in the sea every year.
